Activists from Yarmouk Camp for Palestinian refugees, south of Damascus, have accused contractors of lying and dragging their feet over their pledges to carry out reconstruction works.
A number of contractors reneged on their promises to build new apartments, reconstruct damaged buildings, and install metal structures to prevent burglary in the camp.
The residents said no serious efforts have been made to rehabilitate the sewerage and power/water networks.
A number of contractors affiliated with the Syrian regime reportedly continue to blackmail the residents and threaten retaliation.
