The young man, Zaki Khadrami, American of Yemeni origin, implemented an inpidual experience in order to collect donations through his bicycle for Palestinian refugees in Syria, and who are facing great difficulties to escape the war.
He says about his experience "cold is biting and winds are extreme, but it is a personal challenge that I must go on," he said. "I do it with my choice, but the people in the refugee camps have no option. The current situation in Syria allows the Syrians to leave the country to different places, but the Palestinians are stuck there."
Khadrami is trying to raise funds worth 3700 dollars on the occasion of his thirty-seventh birthday to assist Palestinian refugees stranded in Syria by driving his bicycle only. He decided to drive his bicycle for 320 km on two separate days.
UNRWA allocated a webpage for Zaki to collect donations, and these donations reached 1500 $ within one month.
Zaki says, "I feel comfortable and happy ... this is the first time in my life that I do such a thing, and if I can do that, anyone can do it… everyone can."
