Displaced Palestinian-Syrian refugees taking shelter in Al-Jalil Camp in the Lebanese town of Baalbek have been grappling with dire socio-economic conditions, particularly with the advent of a freezing winter season.
AGPS reporter said refugee shelters sustained heavy material damage in Bilal Ibn Rabah Camp due to the torrential downpours that have befallen the Lebanese territories over the past couple of days.
Roof collapses, wall fissures, rainwater floods, and muddy roads have made the area uninhabitable.
The situation has gone far worse due to the apathy maintained by the UNRWA as regards refugees’ need of urgent assistance.
