Fatah AlSham-led AlRija Square in Yarmouk and the vicinities of the local municipality were struck with mortar shells on Wednesday.
The Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) claimed responsibility for the onslaughts, as figures in a set of pictures released by the group’s so-called “war information department”.
Violent clashes reportedly flared up between the pro-government troops and the opposition outfits at AlMadaris crossroads and near the municipality, among other flashpoints.
A round of bloody confrontations between AlKara’in battalion in Yarmouk and the pro-regime Fatah AlIntifada brigade also claimed the lives of a number of civilians and left others wounded. On Wednesday, two Fatah AlIntifada fighters were pronounced dead.
