ISIS militias in Yarmouk smashed on Sunday the headstones of a number of tombs in the Old Cemetery of AlMaghareba neighborhood under the religious pretext.
The cemetery, a home to dozens of bodies of Palestinian leaders slain by the Israeli occupation army, had come under heavy shelling by the regime army and its Palestinian partners.
Speaking with AGPS, activists said the mass desecration makes part of underway attempts to wipe out the traces of Palestinian existence in the camp.
Sometime earlier, ISIS mobs disfigured the pictures of former Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in Yarmouk Camp. Several Palestinian relief institutions fled the camp after ISIS expropriated and destroyed all of their equipment.
