The committee of the Palestinians of Syria in Lebanon warned the Palestinian and Syrian refugees in Lebanon of frauds carried out by a number of refugees in the area.
The committee said it received a letter warning that a number of refugees posed for delegates of a so-called Comunità di Sant'Egidio Italian NGO and claimed to broker trips to Italy and France. The delegates fill out counterfeit application documents and ask for $200 and a copy of identity documents to broker the trip.
Sometime earlier, activists warned of fraudulent Turkish visas sold by crooks at steep costs to Palestinian refugees from Syria in Lebanon.
According to UNRWA statistics until the end of December 2016, 31 Palestinian refugees from Syria have been taking shelter in Lebanon.
