Palestinian refugees in Daraa have been grappling with a dire situation due to the dramatic increase in food prices and rental fees, along with the acute dearth in much-needed items, children’s milk, and fuel.
The area has also been devoid of clinics and hospitals, except for a handful of under-equipped emergency centers
Activists attributed the health crisis to the tough cordons imposed by the Syrian government forces on the main access roads out of and into the area, along with the UNRWA’s dragging of its feet vis-à-vis the appeals frequently launched by the Palestinian refugee community in southern Syria.
