The Turkish authorities said seven migrants, among whom five children, were found dead after a boat carrying illegal migrants capsized off the Aegean coast.
The bodies of five children and two women were pulled off Izmir seashore in a rescue operation. Nine people, including Iraqis and Somalis and Syrians, were rescued. Another three migrants died after a boat bound for Greece sank off Çeşme coast.
The Turkish authorities quoted migrants onboard the boat as stating that the vessel was carrying 17 people along with the Turkish fugitive organizer.
