Residents of Khan Danon camp complain of high prices and lack of basic services

The residents of the Khan Danon camp are experiencing miserable living conditions, as a result of the shortage of the basic services inside the camp, where its residents are suffering from high prices, the lack of the basic services such as health, medicine and transportation, as well as the ongoing electricity, water and communication cuts for long periods of time.

Unemployment is also spreading among the residents of the camp, because of the tensined security state in Syria, making the assistance provided by the relief organizations their only source to secure their basic needs.

The residents of Khan Danon camp, are complaining since the beginning of the Syrian war, of the unavailability of transportation means from and to the camp, which is located 23 km south of the capital Damascus. The movement to and from the Khan Danon camp is one of the significant problems facing its inhabitants. Any employee or student may wait several hours to get to work, in addition to other financial frustrations which could cost them half their salary or more, except for the drivers’ moods.
