The "UNRWA" indicated in its statement that the Syrian crisis has cast a shadow over the Palestinian refugee communities, where the rate of unrespect for international law and the protection of civilians have increased.

It considered that the drowningincident of 9Palestinians off the coast of the Italian island of Sicily earlier this month, were among 59 Palestinian refugees from Syria, Lebanon and Gaza while trying to reach Europe from the Libyan beaches, is a clear indication of the difficulty of their situation.

UNRWA also said, "These tragedies that include sinking of men, women and children in the sea does not stem from armed conflict, occupation, or lack of protection of human rights, but also mainly from the failure to resolve the problem of Palestine refugees, and the failure of the international community in resolving the Palestinian issue."

UNRWA stressed in its statement the urgent need for political solutions for "the Palestinian - Israeli conflict" and the Syrian conflict so that the Palestine refugees once again building a secure future, according to the statement.
