Municipal authorities in AlSabina Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Rif Dimashq, continue to remove rubble from the alleys and neighborhoods of the camp following appeals launched by the residents to clear debris and unblock access roads.
Over recent months, residents of AlSabina Camp kept railing against the mounds of debris piled up at the main entrances to the area and slammed local authorities for reneging on their promises to ease civilians’ access to their homes and rehabilitate infrastructure.
Violent onslaughts launched on AlSabina Camp in 2013 led to the destruction of 80% of civilian buildings and facilities. On August 30, 2017 a number of residents were allowed to return to their homes. The government forces seized the camp on November 17, 2013.
