UNRWA’s spokeswoman in Lebanon Hoda Samra denied recent social media reports about the agency’s intent to forcibly transfer Palestinian refugees in Syria and Lebanon to other destinations.
UNRWA said such claims are counterfeit, confirming the agency’s willingness to continue to provide much-needed services for Palestinian refugees in its fields of operations and to live up to its UN-granted mandate.
UNRWA spokesperson in Lebanon said factual reports and authentic statements are available only on the agency’s official website and online pages.
A report was recently released by a number of Palestinian refugees from Syria and Lebanon who said they received it from UNRWA representatives. According to the report, the agency received instructions from the New York-headquartered UN to relocate the Palestinians of Syria and Lebanon.
