Youth Development Center Opened in Handarat Camp

“Umniya Project”, jointly held by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and UNICEF, announced the launch of a youth development center in Handarat Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Aleppo.

Youths aged between 10 and 24 will receive free courses in the areas of life skills for adaptive and positive behavior, knitting and wool, IT skills, first aid, English language, photography, Photoshop design tutorials, accounting, domestic agriculture, executive secretariat, and videography.

Heavy shelling on Handarat and bloody shootouts between the government forces and the opposition outfits resulted in huge material damage. The confrontations culminated in the government’s takeover of the camp along with other areas in Aleppo.
