Displaced Palestinian Refugees in I’zaz Camp Call for Urgent Intervention

Displaced Palestinian refugees in I’zaz refugee camp, in Aleppo, north of Syria, maintained a vigil on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the notorious Balfour Declaration, in which Britain green-lighted the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine.

The refugees stressed their commitment to their right to return to their homeland—Palestine—and chanted slogans holding the British government responsible for the displacement and dispossession of thousands of Palestinian refugees.

“Save us from forced deportation”; “Normalization with the Israeli occupation is intolerable”; and “the diaspora camps are the by-products of the ill-famed Balfour pledge”, read some of the banners lifted at the rally.

The refugees called on the Palestine Liberation organization to make serious steps in order to alleviate their crisis and pay a visit to refugee camps pitched north of Syria in order to inspect the dire conditions wrought on the refugee community in war-torn Syria.
