Palestinian activists and representatives of Fyra Farger NGO in the Swedish city of Helsingborg called for a mass participation in rally set to be held on Saturday, November 3, outside of Stortorget Castle in solidarity with Palestinian, Syrian, and Iraqi migrants who have been at the risk of refoulement and imprisonment in Thailand for overstaying their visas.
Over recent days, Palestinian activists have embarked on an e-campaign on Avaaz foundation website in an attempt to speak up for Palestinian and Syrian refugees in Thailand and ensure they are treated in accordance with international humanitarian laws.
Over 600 Palestinian refugees, including 50 from Syria, have sought shelter in Thailand, where they have been treated as lawbreakers rather than as asylum-seekers fleeing war-torn zones.
