Debris-Clearance under Full Swing in Yarmouk Camp

The committee overseeing debris clearance in Yarmouk said efforts have been ongoing to clean out access roads and residential alleys.

Buildings that are on the verge of collapse have also been removed, said the committee, adding that the way has been paved for the next phase of the reconstruction project.

The committee appealed to all political factions, NGOs, and activists to take part in the debris clearance endeavors in order to press ahead with practical steps to allow displaced residents to safely access their homes.

Sometime earlier, the committee said field surveys carried out in Yarmouk showed that 40% of local buildings are fit for human habitation. However, the remaining structures have sustained partial or total material damage.
