PalAbroad Conf. Keeps Tabs on Situation of Palestinian Refugees in Thailand & Deir Ballout Camp

The Palestinians Abroad Conference, held in Istanbul on November 9 and 10, expressed concerns over the situation of Palestinian refugees stranded in Thailand and those forcibly deported from Yarmouk Camp to Deir Ballout Camp, north of Syria.

PalAbroad Conference said it is deeply worried about the fate of 400 Palestinian refugees in Thailand, where they have been at the risk of refoulement for overstaying their visas.

It added that 40 Palestinian refugees from Syria and Iraq have been detained in Thai jails.

Speaking at the event, head of the UNRWA committee said the conference had sent a letter to UNRWA in order to urgently intervene and provide much-needed services to dozens of displaced families north of Syria, deemed by the agency an insecure and tension-stricken region.
