Rally Held in Vienna in Solidarity with Palestinian Refugees Stranded in Thailand

A vigil was staged by Arab and European activists outside of the UN office in Vienna to speak up for migrants trapped in the Thai territories.

The rally-goers called for urgent action to save the lives of displaced families and their children who have been at the risk of refoulement and arbitrary detention in Thailand.

In a memorandum dispatched to the UNHRC, the activists pushed for an immediate response over the crises endured by Palestinian refugees and other migrants in Thailand.

Nearly 179 Palestinian families, including 50 from war-torn Syria, have sought shelter in Thailand. The list includes 65 women and 110 children, along with elderly and sick persons.
