Works have began a couple of days ago to dig a water well as part of a project to build a new cemetery for Palestinians sheltered in AlNeirab Camp and other areas in Aleppo, north of Syria.
The project has been funded by local NGOs, namely the Palestine Charity Commission.
Activists said the move has seen the day after Palestinians have failed to lay their relatives to rest in the two local cemeteries due to overcrowding. A new land was purchased to that end.
Residents of AlNeirab Camp have been grappling with dire conditions as a result of the price hike and high rates of unemployment. Several youths fled the camp owing to forced military conscription with pro-government battalions.
