A boat carrying 60 illegal migrants, including 54 Palestinians, was intercepted off the Turkish seashore at 04:37 a.m. on Saturday.
Activists said a Greece-bound inflatable vessel was unraveled after it set sail from Kuşadası in Aydin province. Dozens of children and women were onboard.
Turkey has served as a major launch-off point for migrants fleeing Syria, among other war-stricken zones, onboard “death boats” bound for Europe, as they rummaged around for a safe shelter. Dozens died at sea, trying to reach European destinations.
