Palestinians from Syria in AlMiyah wa Miyah Camp Gripped with Dire Conditions

Palestinian families from Syria sheltered in AlMiyah wa Miyah Camp in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, have launched, in letters emailed to AGPS, cries for help over their abject living conditions.

Palestinian families said they have been grappling with an acute dearth in financial resources in the poverty-stricken camp.

The refugees lashed out at the human rights institutions and the relief charities for dragging their feet vis-à-vis the crisis, saying the efforts sporadically made by Palestinian factions in Lebanon do not live up to the refugees’ needs.

Dozens of families have not received aids for months and have been denied access to the local labor market. The fluctuating policies pursued by the Lebanese authorities and their reluctance to renew the refugees’ residence permits have added bad to worse.
