PLO Lays Off Fighters

A document released by pro-government sources in Syria and signed by the Palestine Liberation Army’s (PLA) chief of staff Major General Tareq AlKhadra green-lighted the laying off of military conscripts.

According to the document, which is expected to be put into effect on January 1, 2019, a batch of fighters is slated to be released every three months as of January 1st.

Compensations will be shelled out to laid-off staff. Those who have been laid off as a result of death or health problems will not benefit from the compensation.

Palestinian refugees in war-torn Syria have been chased down by pro-government battalions and dragged into raging conflicts against their will.
