Displaced Families in I’zaz Camp Keep Up Vigil for 4th Day

Displaced Palestinian and Syrian families continue to rally for the fourth day running outside of I’zaz Camp, protesting the mistreatment they have been subjected to by the local administration.

Activists slammed the administration for turning the camp into “an open-air prison”, saying authorities have implemented oppressive measures and prevented civilians’ access to bread and much-needed foodstuff.

A campaign has reportedly been kick-started in the camp to secure bread for the displaced families. Appeals have also been launched to urge the Turkish authorities and the concerned institutions to step in.

Speaking with AGPS by phone, the administration of I’zaz Camp denied, however, the allegations, saying staff have been doing their best to meet the refugees’ needs.

Admins added that the rally held by the displaced refugees came following a decision prohibiting the transfer of meals from the restaurant to the tents in order to preserve public hygiene and reduce the propagation of rats in the area.
