Syria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal Miqdad said the Syrian government will prop up support for UNRWA in such a way as to enable the agency to keep up its relief services for Palestinian refugees in Syria.
Speaking during a Monday meeting with the director-elect of UNRWA operations in Syria Michael Mania, who will replace incumbent director Mohammed Abdi Adar, Miqdad reiterated his government’s commitment to support UNRWA in the face of the hurdles set by the US administration and the Israeli occupation.
Director-elect of UNRWA operations in Syria, Michael Mania, hailed the Syrian people for standing by UNRWA and vowed to do his best to cooperate with the concerned Syrian authorities in favor of the Palestinian refugee community.
