The Swedish Migration Agency said some 20,000 migrants will be granted legal stays in Sweden following family reunification procedures.
The Swedish Minister of Justice and Migration Morgan Johansson told Express daily that family reunification is a key step to boost the migrants’ social integration, adding that “generous” measures have been opted for by the Swedish government in this regard.
Over recent years, Palestinian refugees seeking asylum in Sweden denounced the delay in family reunification, which they said makes part of a closed-doors policy pursued by the Swedish government to rein in the influx of refugees to the kingdom.
