Fuel & Gas Crises Rock Jaramana Camp for Palestinian Refugees

Residents of Jaramana Camp, in Rif Dimashq, said they have run out of and gas and fuel reserves urgently needed for heating and cooking.

Speaking with AGPS, the residents said they registered their names on the line-up list months ago but received no fuel supplies so far.

Only a few residents received a handful of fuel liters. However the bulk of civilians have been deprived of fuel reserves with the advent of a freezing winter.

Jaramana Camp has also has been gripped with an acute dearth in gas. Civilians have been forced to purchase gas at some 10,000 Syrian Pounds a cylinder.  The price hike and transportation crisis have made the situation far worse.

Over recent years, residents of Jaramana Camp have launched cries for help over the dire socio-economic conditions, high unemployment rates, poor infrastructure, steep rental fees, and the sharp nosepe in relief assistance by UNRWA and other charities.
