Palestinian refugee Amer Abu Shaqra, born in 1989, has been enduring a mysterious fate in Syrian government prisons for the seventh year running.
Amer was arrested on December 12, 2012 at Khan Eshieh checkpoint while carrying a small money box. The government forces alleged he was carrying an explosive device.
Three months following his abduction, the family was told by the military police that he died in jail on March 17, 2013. However, sources at the Justice Palace confirmed he was alive and held in a military prison.
