Palestinian refugee from Syria Abdul Salam Halawa is taking part in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup as a referee. He is going to oversee a match between a Cambodian club and another from Myanmar. The competition was launched a few days earlier in the capital city of Cambodia Phnom Penh.
Sometime earlier, Palestinian resident of Jaramana Camp, in Rif Dimashq, Abdul Salam Halawa received the international badge for Palestine following cooperation between the Syrian and Palestinian sports federations.
