Palestinian Refugee Tortured to Death in Syrian Gov’t Prison

AGPS documented the death of Palestinian refugee Mohamed Abdul Hamid Ismail, aged 21, in Syrian government prisons.

Mohamed, a resident of Haifa Street in Yarmouk Camp, reportedly breathed his last on March 17, 2014. During his first sixth months in jail, he had been made to endure brutal torture, before he was transferred to Adra prison, where he was pronounced dead after his health condition took a turn for the worse.

AGPS documented the death of 586 Palestinian refugees, among them women and children, under torture in Syrian state penal complexes.
