Palestinian Refugee Released after 8 Years in Syrian Gov’t Jails

Palestinian refugee Mohamed Fatah Hamouda, sheltered in AlRaml Camp in Latakia, was released on Monday from a Syrian government prison, where he had been held for eight years.

Mohamed had been locked up in Sednaya military prison, before he was transferred to AlSuweida’s central prison. He was arrested by government forces on August 17, 2011.

AGPS kept record of the secret incarceration of 1,758 Palestinian refugees in Syria’s state-run lock-ups, among them 108 women and girls.
