10,000 ATM Cards Distributed by UNRWA to Registered Palestine Refugees in Syria

UNRWA has handed over 10,000 ATM cards to Palestinian refugee registered with the agency across Syria in an attempt to smooth cash-aid delivery.

Informed sources said that on July 11, 2019, text messages will be sent to the refugees so as they can withdraw their allotted sums from Bemo banks in Syria.

Families categorized by UNRWA as extremely poor are slated to receive 24,000 Syrian Pounds per every single family member. The other families will get 16,000 SYP per every member.

The unabated warfare has had disastrous fallouts on Palestinian refugee camps across the Syrian territories. The refugees continue to launch cries for help over their exacerbated situation due to the price hike, high unemployment rates, steep rental fees, and the decline in civilians’ purchasing power.
