80 irregular migrants were detained by the Turkish security forces on Wednesday, July 10, across Bodrum region, overseeing the Aegean Sea, as they attempted to illegally enter Greece.
Turkish security sources said the migrants are from Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. Three other persons holding Syrian identity documents were also captured over migrant smuggling.
Turkey has served as a major launch-off point for migrants fleeing Syria, among other war-stricken zones, onboard “death boats” bound for Europe.
