Palestinian student from Syria Sirine Fawaz Mohamed, from Syria’s Yarmouk Camp, won the Arab Reading Challenge in the Netherlands.
Syrine also snatched the fourth seat in Dubai’s fourth Arab Reading Challenge, beating thousands of candidates from across the Arab world.
Syrine said the competition revived her sense of belonging to the Arab world in a country where the study of Arab literature and history has dwindled, adding that she read over 100 books, exceeding the required 25 books.
