Dozens of Palestinian refugees from Syria rallied on Friday outside of the office of UNRWA director of operations in AlBadawi refugee camp, in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli to urge the Agency to adopt an emergency plan in favor of the cash-stripped refugee families.
The vigil was staged by the Union of Right of Return Committees and the Follow-Up Committee of Displaced Families from Syria.
PRS continue to struggle for survival in the Lebanese territories due to the lack of access to the local labor market and absence of relief assistance.
The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria estimates that some 28,000 Palestinian refugees from Syria have sought shelter in Lebanon, where they have been subjected to dire socio-economic conditions and a precarious legal status as the Lebanese authorities continue to rebuff their appeals for legal visas and access to the local labor market.
