New Committees Formed to Smooth Return of Displaced Families to Southern Syria

A number of committees have been established by Damascus governorate as part of underway attempts to rehabilitate AlTadhamun area, south of Damascus, pending the return of displaced families to their homes.

Another committee to follow up on the work of the city council of AlHajar AlAswad, south of Damascus, has also seen the day, in a move aiming to pave the way for the return of civilians to their habitable homes in AlThawra and Tishreen neighborhoods.

Palestinian families displaced from southern Damascus neighborhoods continue to call on the concerned authorities to allow them a safe return to their homes and to press ahead with reconstruction projects.

Civilians said their economic situation has dramatically gone downhill amid the lockdown measures imposed on the country to rein in coronavirus propagation.
