11 Palestinian Captives Released after 3 Years in Libya

The Libyan authorities in the country’s eastern city of Benghazi have released 11 Palestinian refugees, among them five residents of Yarmouk Camp, after a three-year detention in a military prison. 

An AGPS reporter in Libya said the released refugees are: Ali Abdul Wahab Mohamed Khalil, Husain Mohamed Husain Atour, Mohamed Salim Suleiman Barham, Yaser Salim Suleiman Barham, Ahmad Redwan Subhi Hourani, Ahmad Ibrahim Rashdan Rashdan, Rami Hekmat, Ahmad Sai’d Ahmad Shaheen, M’amar Abdul Halim Mohamed Sai’d, Jamal Ayman Abdul Aziz Husain, and Ahmad Bassam Zeidan.

Five refugees are identified as residents of AlJalil camp, in Lebanon’s Baalbeck region.

Secretary-General of Fatah Movement in Libya, Zaki AlKatawi, said the refugees were released on June 27 following efforts made by Fatah and the Palestinian embassy in Lebanon.
