UNRWA Warns of Service Cut to Palestine Refugees due to Funding Crunch

UNRWA media advisor Adnan Abu Hasana has warned of the worsening situation for Palestinian refugees due to a shortage of funds available for the Agency.

Abu Hasana said UNRWA suffers a $200 million budget shortfall which will affect the Agency’s core services, including education, healthcare, and food-aid, in its five fields of operations.

UNRWA faced severe financial challenges in 2019 with a deficit of 50 million U.S. dollars, which will be added to this year's deficit, despite the increase in support by donor countries in November and December last year.
