The Free Palestinian Syrian Assembly (Maseer) and a number of CSOs organized a workshop to shed light on the situation of Palestinian refugees in/from Syria and possible ways to provide them with physical and moral protection.
The workshop culminated in a set of recommendations, including reactivating the Palestinian refugees’ commission; Boosting the Syrian-Palestinian ties; Pushing for humanitarian assistance to displaced Palestinian families in northern Syria; Setting practical mechanisms to protect the Palestinians of Syria; And stepping up regional and international pressure to cancel Yarmouk’s new reconstruction plan.
Speakers also underscored the need to work out the legal situation of the Palestinians of Syria pending their return to their motherland.
