Palestinian Refugees’ Access to Education Periled in Syria Displacement Camp

Palestinian refugee families sheltered in AlHusainiya camp have been overburdened by the costs of private tutoring.

Several families have been forced to pay for private courses due to their children’s weak performance and the poor-quality input delivered at local schools.

Upon more than one occasion, UNRWA has raised alarm bells over the striking upsurge in the rate of school dropouts among the Palestinians of Syria, several among whom have left schools to help feeding their impoverished families in unemployment-stricken refugee camps.
