In steps that will put a smile on the faces of the Palestinian refugee children in light of the continuing suffering due to the continuation of war events in Syria, and the suffering of Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, number of organizations and bodies implemented voluntary initiatives and entertainment activities in attempts to reduce the psychological effects of war on children.
Group of young volunteers in Neirab camp in Aleppo implemented free summer camp within the entertainment program and integrated educational treatment. As well as Jafra Foundation continues psychosocial support, education activities, recreational activities, and educational children's programs in the organization centers in Jaramana camp, Khan Al Shieh, and Qudsaya in Damascus suburb, and Al Aedein camp in Homs.
Jafra organization at Jaramana camp carried out an entertainment day, the children displayed moppet plays, free paintings, drawing on faces, competitions and musical activities for the children. The Psychological and social support team at Jafra organization carried out a ceremony at the end of the school year for the students of Jafra kindergarten at Khan Al Shieh. A number of camp’s residents and the families of the students attended the ceremony, which contains activities such as singing and Moppet Theater; moreover, certificates were distributed to the children. In Khan Danoun camp in Damascus suburb, Al Awda Children kindergarten with the presence of the children families held a graduation ceremony for the children.
The children presented poetic show where it gave hope for the attendance for a better future for their children. It is referred that the children young people of the Palestinian camps were exposed to grave violations such as arrest campaigns by the Syrian security forces and some of them were victims of malnutrition, the lack of medical aid, bombing and sniping.
Moreover, the stop of the education process for lots of Palestinian camps’ children specially sieged camps , in addition to the continuous displacement between areas without being settled in one area, which engaged the people specially children in miserable psychological situation.
