Palestinian refugee from Syria Sara Nizar Abu Rashed has earned a Bachelor’s degree in international relations and creative writing with a “First Class Honors” from Denison University, Ohio, USA.
Sarra, 21, fled the war in Syria some eight years ago. She is a poet and has got contributions in dozens of books and magazines in the US. Her family is a native of Haifa city in occupied Palestine. She is a member of the Administrative Board of the Youth Creativity Forum at the Ibdaa Cultural Center.
Sarra is planning to obtain an M.A. in English Literature. One of her poems was included in the English language curriculum for high school students in the United States. In 2018, she was chosen among 20 students to attend the Conference on Democracy for Ambassadors in Greece.
