Palestinian Refugees in Northern Syria Displacement Camps Denounce Bread Shortage

Displaced Palestinians and Syrians sheltered in Deir Ballout and AlMuhammadiya camps, in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo, denounced the poor bread distribution mechanisms.

On May 28, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey (AFAD) distributed bread to over 600 displaced families taking refuge in the camps. The families were made to line up for hours under the scorching sunbeams and in queues where no anti-cornavirus measures were taken.

Hundreds of Palestinian families have been struggling for survival in the poorly-equipped Deir Ballout and Muhammadiya camps, after they were forced out of Yarmouk and southern Damascus towns.

For many displaced Palestinian refugees, the perils of coronavirus add to the torment already experienced throughout the conflict.
