Director of UNRWA operations in Syria Amanya Michael Ibye met with Damascus governor on July 14 during a visit paid to Deraa, south of Syria.
Amanya updated the governor on UNRWA’s plans to rehabilitate its destroyed premises in Deraa Camp and enhance services for Palestinian refugees.
The governor hailed UNRWA’s reconstruction initiatives and called for boosting education services for Palestine refugees. He pledged to take all measures in order to support the Agency.
Sometime earlier, on behalf of the UNRWA Commissioner-General, Amanya honored Ihab Daoud, the environmental health worker in Deraa, in recognition of his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
