A UNRWA delegation visited AlSafsaf and Ein Karem Schools in Deraa Camp for Palestinian refugees, south of Syria.
The delegation inspected the condition of UNRWA premises in the camp after the Syrian regime lifted its tough blockade on the camp.
The delegation was led by UNRWA’s Director of Syria Operations, Amanya Michael Ibye. He was accompanied by Anas Khalifa, director of the General Authority for Palestinian Arab refugees in the camp, and the southern area’s acting director Assaad Husain.
Amanya met with Palestinian schoolchildren and instructors and took note of their aspirations and the challenges they face with the advent of the academic year.
During the latest round of escalations by the Syrian regime and their Russian forces on Deraa, UNRWA called on all warring parties to ensure the access of relief supplies to the camp and the opening of a humanitarian corridor to assist the stranded civilians.
