Popular Palestinian committees of Palestinians of Syria in Lebanon have spoken out against UNRWA’s decision to pide the 2021-22 academic year into two 16-week phases.
The Committees said in a statement that the new mechanism will destabilize the educational system and affect students’ output.
The statement called on UNRWA to adopt the old system and allow students to attend classes all the way through the academic year while taking into consideration anti-coronavirus safety measures.
The committees further demanded that UNRWA recruit other teachers, activate the two-shift courses, and secure means of transportation to Palestinian students sheltered outside of refugee camps.
