UNRWA Resumes Reconstruction of Vital Premises in Deraa Camp

UNRWA has started reconstruction works to rehabilitate its medical and educational facilities in Deraa Camp for Palestinian refugees, south of Syria.

Works have been underway to reconstruct the Tiberias and AlSafsaf schools along with the local clinic.

On September 25, a UNRWA delegation inspected the condition of the Agency’s premises in the camp after the Syrian regime lifted its tough blockade on the area.

The delegation was led by UNRWA’s Director of Syria Operations, Amanya Michael Ibye. He was accompanied by Anas Khalifa, director of the General Authority for Palestinian Arab refugees in the camp, and the southern area’s acting director Assaad Husain.

During the latest round of escalations by the Syrian regime and their Russian forces on Deraa, UNRWA called on all warring parties to ensure the access of relief supplies to the camp and the opening of a humanitarian corridor to assist the stranded civilians.
