Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met on Friday with representatives of the reconstruction and rubble-clearance committee in Yarmouk Camp at the presidency headquarters in Ramallah, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
The delegation briefed Abbas on the progress of debris-removal works in Yarmouk Camp and underway efforts to facilitate the return of hundreds of displaced families to their homes.
Abbas pledged that the PA will keep up its efforts to assist Palestinian refugees in displacement camps in and outside Syria, in light of the multiple hardships wrought by the coronavirus pandemic.
He further vowed to contribute to the equipment of healthcare facilities run by the Palestinian Red Crescent in Syria.
