Palestinian Refugees Denounce Price Manipulation in Syria Displacement Camp

Residents of Khan Eshieh Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Rif Dimashq, have denounced the exorbitant prices of vital food items, including bread.

Speaking with AGPS, a number of residents said a bread bundle is sold at a price of over 1,500 Syrian pounds.

They warned of the increasing manipulation of bread prices and distribution and called on the Syrian authorities to take urgent measures in response.

After more than a decade of conflict, Palestine refugees continue to be one of the most vulnerable groups in Syria with immense humanitarian needs.

Palestinian refugees continue to launch cries for help over their deteriorating humanitarian condition due to the sharp decrease in the exchange rate of the Syrian pound compared to the USD and their lack of access to the local labor market.
