Representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) visited on Thursday Yarmouk Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Damascus, to inspect rubble-clearance works in the area.
Mahmoud AlKhaled, member of the committee overseeing rubble-clearance in the camp, said serious efforts have been underway to facilitate civilians’ return to their houses. He added that Yarmouk municipality will take charge of entry permits instead of security branches.
AlKhaled said 90% of debris-removal works have been finalized in Yarmouk and Palestine streets. Civilians’ return has been proceeding at a low pace due to poor infrastructure and absence of vital facilities.
He called on Yarmouk residents to return to their houses and retrieve their property.
