Residents of Khan Eshieh Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Rif Dimashq, embarked on a campaign to raise awareness about Palestinian refugees who have fallen prey to fatal torture and enforced disappearance in Syria’s penal complexes.
The move comes after activists in Syria launched a campaign under the hashtag #WeWantThePrisoners to urge the Syrian regime to release all prisoners.
Over 150 Palestinian residents of Khan Eshieh Camp, among them women and children, have been secretly held in Syrian regime prisons. The detainees’ fates and whereabouts have been shrouded in mystery.
AGPS has also documented the death of 30 Palestinian refugees from Khan Eshieh Camp under torture in state-run prisons in Syria.
